The Society brings together local residents with a common interest in gardening.

Meetings are held in the Village Hall at 7.30 pm on the second Wednesday of each month and talks by visiting speakers cover a wide range of subjects related to gardening.

Also at our monthly meetings we have a Plant Sales Table and an Information Table with free leaflets and booklets relating to a variety of gardening topics.

Two shows are held each year, one mid summer and the other late summer; both open to members only. Additionally, competitions are held at the monthly meetings.

Included in the programme are visits to local private gardens of note plus occasional outings to nationally recognised gardens.

A bi-monthly newsletter is distributed to members advising of current and future activities, listings of local gardening events together with articles of gardening interest, and the occasional fun quiz etc.

Details of Society activities also appear in the Parish Magazine.

Members are issued with a Membership Card that not only gives details of the programme for the current year, but also the opportunity to shop at The Village Nursery at a discount.

Copies of the journals of those Societies to which we are affiliated are available to members on loan, and tickets to their various shows are available, sometimes at a discount.

We invite you to join the Society, which caters for the beginner as well as the more experienced gardener.

Come to one of our monthly meetings where you can join for the year - individual membership is currently subject to an annual subscription of £6.00, or alternatively for a fee of just £1.00 become a member for the evening.

We look forward to seeing you soon.
