A few pieces of information (hopefully before you have gone.....)

You can read all the posts just by visiting the forum. To post anything, you need to register .

I have had a report that one 'reader' was unable to view the forum without registering or 'logging-in'. This is NOT how the system should be working so I would appreciate any other reports if you find this is so.

I have put some 'welcome' posts in place there so you can get the gist of what we are trying to do and how to do it. We all live in a village and it is important that we avoid confrontation. You will see that we consider it important that this forum does not become a battleground for attacking people. You will see that we do not accept anonymous posts - you all need to know who is posting (and that is why we ask you to register your username as your full first and surname) and you can also see the road on which members live, to help clarify the topics and viewpoints. We ask for your telephone number during registration only to enable us to verify your application - it will not be displayed to forum users.

There are 'rules' to which you agree when you register. Breach of these rules will be met with varying degrees of action from deletion or editing of a post, a warning, up to temporary or permanent banning from the forum.

The forum is not to be used to advertise (subject to demand we may introduce a 'for sale' forum) or attack people, and offensive matter or bad language in posts will NOT be tolerated. The forum moderators have the final say.

We very much hope that you will find it an asset. I have agreement from both Philip Circus and Pat Arculus, district and county councillors respectively for the village, that they will be there to try to answer questions within their remit, and we expect a representative response from the Parish Council too.

It has been launched with four active forums - Roads and Traffic, Planning Issues, a 'Computer-centred' forum as well as a 'General' forum for anything else. It now has an active section for broadband and similiar topics

There will no doubt be 'teething troubles' while we refine the various bits of the mechanism, so we ask for your patience.

The previous forum here was discontinued early in 2006 by Robin Bliss with the following notice
